Goodbye Goodness
By Emily Moorehead
I will
live on a houseboat
Breathing tea and caviar,
Go to bed when I am willing, sing my stories, fondle men,
And live to be a thousand.
I will dress in silk and cotton,
Dance inside a stranger's mind,
Touch the life of life itself, laugh at danger, run
amuck,
And never eat my leftovers.
I will take my hard-earned money,
Grind it up to feed the seagulls,
Spread green carpet on the waves, toss the compass, get
the map out,
And softly, just drift on...
